About the product

Our Ad Break Composer builds a user targeted ad pod or ad break. You can create, edit and apply different rules for each ad break and each user based on multiple parameters.

An example is volume split, where you want to split the inventory in percentages with each split following their own workflow (like a volume split between the TV set manufacturer and the publisher inventory). This can be advantageous since it is important to maintain a separation between your video delivery process and your ad tech stack.

Another example is device split, where you want to define which ads will be inserted for mobile devices and which will be inserted for CTV users. These functionalities are sometimes provided by the ad server/header-bidding solution, but these are additional services incurring incremental costs. You benefit by separating video delivery from your ad stack while still being able to manage your providers separately without being forced to change video delivery components each time you want to change their header-bidding solution.

  • Mix ads that can come from any ad server or SSP together with other types of content like ad bumpers, interstitials or promos.
  • Create the Ad Pod for any device while adding, sorting and filtering external (third party) and contextual data to target your audience, which will be sent to the different ad servers and/or SSPs.
  • Define when, where and how many ad breaks (and ads within that ad break) will serve within a content stream.
  • Create, edit and apply templates for each of your video services or TV channels.
  • Seamlessly configure your pre, mid, and post rolls and choose the cue points or playback duration your ad pods will serve within the content stream.
  • Validate the creatives visually through a web user interface and adapt your creatives video formats, apply or change tags or categories.
  • Benefit from various ad inventory split features (volume, device, SCTE35, event ID)
  • Customize each individual ad slot to build a personalized commercial break, enhanced with backfill functionality (DAI Optimizer), so you’ll never miss an opportunity.

The Ad Break Composer also provides a VAST (3.x to 4.x) interface that enables a standard VAST client to benefit from the Ad Pod creating features. This is useful when creating ad pods for devices that do not support SSAI or when the user is fully client-side ad insertion oriented. This is also a great way to reduce technical integration cost for each client application. Finally, the Ad Break Composer is also in charge of transcoding the ad creatives to the right format depending on the targeted devices for SSAI but also when used through the VAST interface. The transcoded ads are pushed to the Customer CDN(s) or a specific destination.
